Video Production

My journey in video production has been shaped by diverse experiences across freelance projects, professional broadcasting, and collegiate media. Each role has deepened my skills in storytelling, technical execution, and live production management.

Freelance Work

As a freelance videographer and editor, I have traveled across Ohio, primarily focusing on East-Central Ohio, to bring stories to life. My projects have ranged from live-streaming high school sports—capturing moments like a game-winning three-point shot and a girls’ soccer penalty shootout—to creating promotional content for real estate and special events. I’ve also filmed and edited personal projects, such as a documentary for my father’s 60th birthday. Each project showcases my ability to adapt to different production needs and audiences.

WHIZ-TV / Marquee Broadcasting

At WHIZ-TV, part of Marquee Broadcasting, I honed my live production skills over four years. Starting as a part-time Production Assistant and advancing to Assistant Newscast Director, I gained expertise in studio setup, graphics creation, and managing live broadcasts. My roles included:

  • Floor Director: Managing studio equipment and signaling on-air talent.
  • Assistant Newscast Director: Coordinating video packages and graphics during live shows.
  • Newscast Director: Overseeing live broadcasts, ensuring smooth transitions, and maintaining timing.

I directed a variety of productions, including a 12pm Newscast that featured guest interviews, live weather segments, and news stories—an example of my ability to manage complex live productions.

College Experience

At Muskingum University, as part of the Orbit Media team, I developed a passion for media production through both on-camera and behind-the-scenes projects. My on-camera work included hosting The Final Lap, where I interviewed student athletes, coaches, and notable figures like retiring athletic director Larry Shank. Behind the camera, I produced video packages for campus events, such as art gallery openings and the Homecoming Bonfire, using AP Style scripts, Adobe Audition, and AVID.

Bringing It All Together

These experiences collectively demonstrate my versatility in video production—whether live or pre-recorded, personal or professional. From crafting compelling stories to executing live broadcasts, I am passionate about using video to inform, entertain, and inspire.
